Yes. A salwar or sharara set is a top and trousers, usually with a dupatta (scarf). A kurta pajama is a longer shirt and trousers. A gown is one piece. You can choose something festive without learning to wrap a sari. We’ll show you how to wear your chosen outfit.

Black kurta pajamas are a great choice for an evening Diwali party. Wear the set on its own or add a Nehru vest if you like—the vest is optional. For a puja or temple visit, check your host’s color and dress preferences.

You don’t need identical colors: try two jewel tones, a shared pastel palette, or a color from one outfit’s embroidery in another person’s look. Keep the level of dressiness similar and follow any color theme on the invitation. If your partner cannot come, bring a photo of their outfit.
