Saree or sari — both spellings, same thing. You will see it written both ways and neither is wrong. We answer to either.
What matters more is that a sari has no size. It is a single uncut length of fabric, draped and pinned to whoever is wearing it, which is why it is the one garment that genuinely suits everybody who walks through the door.

What a saree is made of
Three pieces, and it helps to know the words before you come in:
- The saree itself — five to nine yards of uncut fabric, draped and pleated.
- The choli, or blouse — the fitted top, which comes ready to wear in a full range of sizes. You try it on and take it home.
- The pallu — the decorated end that goes over the shoulder. It is the part everyone photographs.
Underneath sits a petticoat, which holds the pleats. That is the one extra piece, and it is $15.
Almost every saree here comes ready to wear. The saree and its blouse are the outfit. Nothing needs ordering in, nothing takes weeks, and you can walk out with the whole thing the same afternoon.
Traditional or pre-draped
The traditional saree
Uncut fabric, draped and pinned on the day. It is the most beautiful version and the most versatile, because the same six yards can be worn a dozen different ways. Draping takes practice, which is why we do it for you — see below.
The pre-draped saree
Stitched into its pleats already, so it goes on like a skirt and stays exactly where it is put. No pinning, nothing to adjust through the evening, and you can step into it yourself in a few minutes.
If it is your first saree, if you are travelling with it, or if you simply want to enjoy the party without thinking about your outfit, the pre-draped version is a very good answer.
Which saree for which occasion
As a wedding guest
Silk, georgette or crepe in a strong colour, with a blouse that suits the formality of the event. Skip white, which is worn for mourning in many Indian traditions, and skip red, which usually belongs to the bride. Beyond that, wear colour and plenty of it.
Reception and sangeet
This is where the sequins and the shine belong. Receptions are the dressiest part of the weekend and a sangeet involves dancing, so something you can move in earns its keep.
For the bride and close family
We carry bridal and family sarees in silk with heavier work. One honest note: we do not stock the classic day-of red bridal lehenga. If you are flexible on colour there are hundreds of options in wine, plum, emerald, navy, ivory and gold, and we would rather tell you that now than after you have driven over.
Pujas, festivals and everyday
Lighter cottons and blends that are comfortable for a long day, and simpler work for temple visits and Diwali. Around Diwali and Navratri the floor turns over quickly, so come earlier in the season if you can.
Blouses, petticoats and draping
Blouses come off the rack. We keep them in a full range of sizes, so you try them on with the saree, see the two together, and take both home. No measuring, no waiting, no second trip.
If you want something very specific — a particular neckline, a sleeve length, a back — many sarees come with unstitched blouse fabric and you can have it made to that shape instead. That is a choice, not a step. Most people wear the ready-made one.
We also drape and pin sarees at $20 a person if you would like us to. It is optional, and plenty of people never need it — but a properly pinned saree stays put all night, and it is a good idea for a first saree or a long wedding day.

Sizes
The saree itself is one size in the truest sense — it is fabric, and it is draped to you. For blouses and everything else we carry extra small through 5XL, for both women and men, out on the floor rather than as a special order. There is more on our size range here.
What sarees cost
A saree and its blouse are the outfit, and the only additional piece is a petticoat at $15. There is nothing else you have to buy. Our ranges are on the price guide, and they are the same for everyone — no upselling, and if the cheaper option is the right one we will say so.

Finding us
Loveleen Sari Palace, 18507 Pioneer Boulevard, Artesia, CA 90701. We are in the middle of Little India, with free parking in our own lot directly behind the store. Pioneer Boulevard has several shops with similar names, so it is worth having the number 18507 on your phone.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays. Tuesday to Friday from 12:15 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 11:15 AM, closing at 6:45 PM. Weekday afternoons are the calmest, and trying sarees on unhurried is much the better experience.
Minutes from Cerritos and Norwalk, under ten miles from Long Beach, and a short drive from Buena Park, Anaheim and the rest of Orange County. Roughly 25 miles east of LAX if you are flying in.
